Hugh Broughton, MA (Hons) Dip Arch RIBA
Director
Hugh established Hugh Broughton Architects in 1995. He had previously
worked with Troughton McAslan and Manser Associates and trained at
Edinburgh University.
Since its foundation, Hugh’s practice has developed a strong
reputation for well-considered contemporary design. Projects designed
by Hugh have won awards from the RIBA, the Civic Trust and the International
Property Federation. In 2002 the practice was runner up in the prestigious
Building Awards Young Architectural Practice of the Year and in 2005,
working with Faber Maunsell, the practice won the RIBA International
Competition for the design of Halley VI Antarctic Research Station.
Hugh has written numerous articles on contemporary design in
Spain and is the author of Madrid: A Guide to Recent Architecture
and London: Light and Space. He is also an assessor for the
Civic Trust Awards.
Hugh has particular responsibility within the practice for design,
client liaison and personnel. Hugh lives in west London and enjoys
mountain biking and Antarctic travel. |
